The problem
The five-kilometre embankment leading to Alberdi is surrounded by water at every Paraguay River flood, which inundates both sides of the access road.
The solution
15 cm geocells filled with local organic soil to reinforce the slopes; on top, Flexterra hydraulic blanket and Futerra 7010 mat so the vegetation grows reinforced.
The result
Fifty-seven thousand square metres of confined, vegetated slope: the access withstands the flood and looks green.
