The problem
Pozo Hondo, almost 900 km from the capital, suffers the floods of the Pilcomayo River. The town had an earth wall that protected it and had to be rebuilt after every flood.
The solution
The wall was lined with a 15 cm articulated, encapsulated concrete mattress that follows ground settlements without losing integrity and withstands the Pilcomayo current.
The result
The wall no longer has to be rebuilt after each flood. The protection works during the flood; the river keeps rising just the same.
